WMUV Awarded Prayer Partner Grant
The Virginia Department of Health, Office of Health Equity awarded WMUV a Prayer Partner Grant of $20,000.00. The funding is made available through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Initiatives to Address COVID-19 Health Disparities Among Populations at High-Risk and Underserved, Including Racial and Ethnic Minorities and Rural Communities.
Ukraine Aid: Supporting Project Ruth
WMUV partnered with Project: Ruth in Bucharest, Romania several years ago as they worked and ministered among the Roma population. Our brothers and sisters in Christ are now also meeting needs among Ukrainian refugees by housing them at the Ruth School and Providence Baptist Church in Bucharest. We would like to walk alongside them through prayer and financial support by providing specific prayer requests from our partners at the Ruth School and contributing funds to care for refugees.
With Great Compassion: Nurses Seek to Revive Baptist Nursing Fellowship in Virginia
Nurses are like angels of the Lord sent to provide compassionate healing care, sometimes even under the harshest conditions. If we never realized their worth in years gone by, during this pandemic we know the labor of love of these frontline workers.

Alma Hunt 2021: Funding Medical Mission Work in Kenya
In March 2020, Dr. Lynne Stockman led the first mission trip of a three-year partnership to Mully Children’s Family (MCF) in Kenya to provide medical care to children in need and the surrounding community. The team provided care to over 2,200 patients in five days, some who walked over 20 miles to get to the mobile clinic.
Alma Hunt 2021: An Impact Partnership Engages the Eastern Shore
In 2018, Virginia Baptists began a partnership on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with Cape Charles Baptist and other local churches. The relationship grew out of Impact Mission Camps and gave churches an opportunity to support ministries on the Eastern Shore
