Journey Partners: Abiding with One Another
Emma Sorrells | Dogwood Hall Lower Level - Room 17
Women journey alongside each other. Each human desires to be heard, loved, known, and cared for. But how do we create a space where people can feel those things? As women who follow Christ, we can partner with people in our communities to give them a space to feel loved and known. Do you want to know more practical ways to mentor someone? Would you like to connect with younger people? Come to this session and leave Getaway feeling more equipped to be a journey partner.
Rest in the Wilderness

This breakout session explores the Christian discipline of solitude and its connection to community. Drawing inspiration from figures like John the Baptist and Jesus, we will discuss the Biblical rhythm of work and rest, focusing on the importance of intentional isolation to draw near to God, followed by re-engagement with Christian fellowship. Participants will learn practical ways to establish a healthy rhythm of rest, from daily quiet time to yearly retreats, emphasizing that true rest is essential to a life of faithful service.
