Focus:refugees

WMUV entered a partnership with BGAV working with mission partners in Lebanon, Bosnia, Austria, and Virginia who are working with displaced peoples in their midst.  The goal is to help our partners alleviate suffering and provide hope.  Be on the lookout throughout the year as we provide ideas on how to get involved!

“Project HELP is a [National] WMU initiative designed to help the church address current social and moral issues.”  Project HELP 2018-2020 focuses on the global refugee crisis. Through WMU resources, WMUV offers churches and community organizations educational experiences through leading refugee simulations.

In October 2020, a group of women will go to Austria and Bosnia/Croatia to learn about refugee ministry in Austria, Bosnia, Croatia, and Lebanon.

We are looking for women who are interested in learning about the refugee crisis and ways we can support our ministry partners.  Although we hope to do some hands-on missions while there, our primary purpose is education with the intent of sharing ways we can support and get involved with international and local refugee ministry when we return to Virginia.

When: October 3-17, 2020

Deadline to Apply: April 19, 2020

Approximate cost: $2,630
