A New Resource in Missions Education

During the month of February, Baptists across the country embrace a special day called, Focus Sunday! This is a day when we highlight the work of the Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) in the local church, state and in our nation.

WMU continues its mission of mobilizing the church to pray for missions, give to missions, to be involved in mission endeavors and to support the work of the denomination.

Since 2014, WMU of Virginia made a commitment to address social problems with the good news of the gospel. As a result HOPE ministries of WMUV were born. HOPE stands for: Walking with others in the hope of Christ. Passionate, committed and called volunteers serve on HOPE Teams that seek to educate the church for missional responses to some of life’s harshest realities. Currently, WMUV has three HOPE Teams comprised of over 30 volunteers: HOPE Mental Health, Human Trafficking and Domestic & Intimate Partner Violence.

This VIMEO Series is produced by WMU of Virginia to educate the church for missions involvement. During the month of February, one module will be e-published each week. Please feel free to use this missions education resource in small groups, Bible study, Sunday School or on a Sunday morning!

This Vimeo Series is made possible because of your generous gifts to the Alma Hunt Offering.
