SHINE 2014 Recap
SHINE was a great weekend being MAD. (Making a Difference). We made 167 tote bags filled with hygiene, hairbows, blankets, and stuffed animals for teen girls going into foster care. It has been exciting hearing the response from the agencies which have received these. The offering was for books for a new library in Romania at the Ruth Project, approximately $796 was collected for the library. That was amazing for the approx. 177 girls and leaders that attended. I have heard nothing but positive remarks about the program. All present were moved through Valerie’s words of challenge to us. Rachel Shultz added great music to the weekend moving us to “Write My Story” by Francesca Batistelli.
