Developing Future Leaders
Recognizing our responsibility to develop leaders of all ages, WMUV provides many options for growth in spirit, mind and body. Acting upon a spiritual mandate to develop Christian leaders, we commit ourselves to motivating and challenging persons to consider spiritual and missions leadership roles.
The following avenues provide the content, the resources, and the opportunities for equipping leaders to accept challenges, to grow, and to encourage responsible direction in others.
- Outstanding GA: Each year WMUV selects a 4th-6th grade girl who exhibits a missional lifestyle, enabling her to attend a week of summer camp at CrossRoads and participate in leadership roles throughout the year.
- Leader-In-Training : The Leader in Training (LIT) Program is for students ages 14-18,who have a desire to develop their leadership skills and take a deeper look into God’s will for their lives. The LIT program is a four-year plan with each year building on skills previously learned.
- CrossRoads Ambassadors: CrossRoads Ambassador are trained and ready to talk to kids, teens, and parents about summer camp. Inviting a CrossRoads Ambassador to share a presentation with your children’s missions group, youth group, Sunday School class or other organization, enhances the leadership skills learned through the Ambassador program.
- Panelists: Virginia State Panelists are young women who exhibit a strong commitment to Christ and to missions. Panelists help plan and lead Shine each year, assist with the Mom and Me weekend, share at WMUV Annual Meeting, and are available to speak about missions and WMUV.
- Uptick: A cohort of high potential young women that will gather at events throughout the year.
- Scholarships: WMUV provides scholarships for the development of women as emerging mission leaders, enabling them to receive additional educational training or attend seminary both in the United States and abroad.
